Hi and welcome to my site. My name is Louie and if you’re looking for treatments against psoriasis then you’ve come to the right place.
I have a brother who suffered from scalp psoriasis for many months. His condition significantly interfered with his day-to-day activities. And I couldn’t just stand there watching as his high school life spins around in shame and doubt.
The treatments his doctor gave him were either temporary relief or didn’t work at all. So I searched online for recently discovered medical breakthroughs for psoriasis until I discovered a product called Psoriasis Free For Life.
Hesitantly, I had my brother try it out for his illness. I was desperate enough for him to get cured and fast. And what do you know, we were in for a real surprise.
In as fast as 3 days, he experienced significant positive changes. Within just a few weeks, he was delighted to report that he’s skin “feels anew.” That’s his exact word. I couldn’t be happier to have helped get his high school life back to normal route.

Psoriasis is a common skin disease that disrupts the life cycle of the body’s skin cells resulting in the rapid growth and accumulation of cells on the skin’s surface. This ailment transforms the skin into thick, silvery scales with dry, red, and itchy patches. Psoriasis-infested skin can also tend to be painful. The real cause of this persistent and long-lasting disease is not entirely known.
Medical experts speculate genetics, environmental factors, or a combination of both as prime suspect. Therefore, it is not unusual for multiple members of the family to have this disease. Another factor that may play a major role for the likelihood of getting this disease is the body’s immune system. Despite decades of research, the so-called “master switch” that triggers psoriasis still remains a mystery.
Who Are Likely to Get Psoriasis?
Since genes and environment are thought to be the main factors in developing this disease, people engaged in the following are more likely to get psoriasis:
- People carrying the genes. People with the genes do not necessarily get the disease automatically. Other factors are also needed to ignite psoriasis in people carrying the genes. About 1/3 of those with the “psoriasis gene” have at least one family member getting the disease.
- Smoking
- Exposure to the sun
- Alcoholism
- Injury to the skin (i.e. skin infection, skin inflammation, excessive scratching)
In the United States, around 1-2% or about 5.5 million of people have plaque psoriasis, the most common type. And of those with plaque psoriasis, around 10% have psoriatic arthritis.
What People With Psoriasis Have to Go Through
People with psoriasis differ in severity, frequency, and duration of symptoms. Symptoms attached to this disease can occur at any age and may be minimal, frequent or infrequent breakouts on small or large areas of the skin.
Outbreaks include:
- Maddening itch
- Patches of raised reddish skin
- Silvery scales with cracks and oozes
- Pustules on the skin
Scratching the affected area due to extreme itch does not relieve the itching and usually leads to increase in inflammation and more intense itching, forcing the patient go through the scratching process all over again.
Psoriasis most commonly affects the areas of the knees and elbows, but it can also affect the following body parts:
- Scalp
- Lower Back
- Areas around the genitalia
- Soles of the feet
- Armpits
- Under the breasts
- Feet
- Hands
- Nails, that also results in:
- Pitting of the nails
- Thickening of the nails
- Separation of the nails from the skin
Since psoriasis can induce severe itch and therefore lead to heavy scratching it can also lead to potentially serious complications such as:
- cellulitis
- secondary bacterial and/or fungal infection
- and psoriatic arthritis
Serious complication can induce the following symptoms:
- High fever of temperature higher than 101 degrees Fahrenheit
- Joint pains
- Stiffness
- Warmth
- Swelling
- Open sores or lesions
Psoriasis is not contagious therefore it is not transmitted by touching the affected area. However, the affected part may easily become infected especially when splits are present on the skin. Moreover, physical pains suffered from this disease are compounded by emotional and psychological effects caused by having to live with this debilitating and humiliating skin condition.
Treatment for Psoriasis of the Scalp
There are a lot of known treatments against psoriasis.
Topical treatments– are the first line of defense against psoriasis that aims to slow down and normalize the excessive reproduction of skin cells. These treatments include:
- Corticosteroids
- Anthralin
- Synthetic Vitamin D3
- Vitamin A
Phototherapy – involves the regular exposure of the skin to ultraviolet light under strict medical supervision.
Systemic Medications – are prescription drugs used to treat those with moderate to severe psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. These medications are also used for patients who are unresponsive to UV light therapy or unable to take topical medications.
Biologic Drugs – are a new form of treatment for psoriasis in the scalp that is given through intravenous (IV) infusion or injection.
Since doctors are not really sure on the root cause of this disease, the treatments available are unfortunately temporary relief and do not really target the real source. There are also known home treatment for scalp psoriasis, but mostly are too cumbersome to prepare. Plus, these home treatments usually differ in effect from person to person.
This is why I am thoroughly recommending Psoriasis Free for Life. This is the only tried and tested holistic approach to permanently cure any type of psoriasis without the need for dangerous drugs or expensive medications that don’t guarantee absolute relief.
